Sonoma Dec Mushroom Foraging Classes

Dec Sonoma Mushroom Foraging Classes

We are excited to announce our winter mushroom Sonoma class dates!

Class Dates (not a series)

Dec 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 10am-2pm

Our guided mushroom walks are on the Sonoma Coast, about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco.  All details you need, including a packing list, meet-up location, and more, will be sent once your booking is confirmed.  This is a wonderful weekend adventure to do alone or with friends and family.

What You'll Learn

This immersive half-day program is a hands-on introduction to the fascinating world of fungi. Learning to forage for mushrooms is an ongoing life path. We will cover mushroom anatomy for identification, symbiotic tree and plant relationships, poisonous and edible mushrooms, and forest safety. This winter, it will be possible to find edibles such as chanterelle, matsutake, porcini, lion's mane, blewits, black trumpets, hedgehogs, and more. You'll learn foundational skills to be able to go out foraging on your own. The program also includes community building, a cooking demo, and a tasting at the end.
