Mushroom Foraging Classes

Join us to explore the magical world of fungi in Northern California. Our immersive classes are designed to teach you how to confidently identify edible and poisonous mushrooms, sustainably harvest, and prepare wild mushrooms for both culinary and medicinal use. We'll answer the age-old question, "Can I eat that?" while also deepening your relationship with the forest ecosystem. Our programs range from beginner-friendly walks to more targeted classes focused on specific, highly sought-after species like morels, porcini, chanterelles, black trumpets, and more. You’ll learn about the unique life cycle of fungi, their vital role in forest health, and the ethical practices that ensure we leave our foraging grounds better than we found them. Our goal is to provide you with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to safely and respectfully interact with the fungal kingdom. We are fully permitted and always have permission to be on the lands where we teach. In the winter, we forage on the Sonoma Coast and Santa Cruz, and in the spring, we forage in the Sierra Nevada and Mount Shasta mountains.
